Team UK brings together the nations’ most talented young people in more than 50 skills ranging from beauty therapy and plumbing to mobile robotics and web design. Many were selected for the team following an outstanding performance at the national skills competitions.

Team members are generally between 18 and 22 years of age, and selection for the team could be the start of a journey to a WorldSkills Competition one to four years ahead.  This is how long it takes to shape talent and build the skills to a world class standard. The journey involves three stages:

• Squad UK
• Team UK
• final preparation for the WorldSkills Competition

At each stage competitors complete intensive training and development programme, supported by a Training Manager, to move through full technician standard to specialist/graduate level standard and beyond.
