WorldSkills UK competitions focus on all the essential requirements for a successful career as an Accounting Technician.  
 
You will be part of a team of three working on a project that will really put your technical knowledge and work management skills to the test.
 
The competition is organised by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Entrants should have completed their AAT level 2 Certificate in Accounting/ AAT level 5 Certificate in Accounting in Scotland, and be working towards their AAT level 3 Diploma in Accounting/ AAT level 6 Diploma in Accounting in Scotland on 31 May 2012.

Each organisation may enter a maximum of two teams, each with three members.

Follow these steps to ENTER the WorldSKills UK Accounting Technician national competition.

  • Step one: Download the pre-competition pack and competition guidance. Please note that this is an optional activity that you can use to identify your rising stars and prepare them for the national competition.
  • Step two: Familiarise yourself with the national competition materials from January 2012.
  • Step three: ENTER your candidates. The closing date is 15 March 2012.    
  • Step four: We’ll send your entrants an invitation to the live heats, which take place between April and June 2012.
  • Step five: The competitors who achieve the highest scores in the live heats will go through to the WorldSkills national competition.

We’ll make sure you are kept updated with regular newsletters throughout all these stages so that you don’t miss any important dates or information.

Our pre-competition packs contain sample competition briefs and marking schemes.
These will help learners, apprentices and employees to identify the knowledge and skills they need to develop to meet WorldSkills UK competition standards.  They also help them to get used to the pressures of competing.
